Kerry McEwan

Hello! My name’s Kerry and I’m one of the teachers here at Phone English.

I have always had a love for learning different languages and for language itself, studying Latin and linguistics at university in Canterbury, England.

I later trained to teach EFL in Canterbury 12 years ago, gaining an A-grade CELTA and have been teaching ever since. I understand distance learning as I have done extra online courses, including specialist certificates in English grammar, phonetics, teaching vocabulary, Business English, one to one teaching, how to teach grammar, classroom management and teaching young learners.

I have taught EFL in a wide variety of situations, all in the UK, including Business English, one to one, mixed and monolingual classes of both adults and young learners, but for the last few years I have done on-line teaching, telephone teaching and teacher training, as I have also been bringing up my two children in Kent in the South East of England.  My son thinks I am crazy as I have a passion for grammar, but we do share a love of music. He’s a wonderful pianist and ‘cellist and I teach the clarinet, saxophone and recorder.

We share a love of rodents, especially guinea pigs and hamsters.

If I am your Phone English tutor, I look forward to helping you to become more confident and fluent.
